I have caught my 2 largest trout 17" and 18" on back to back cast with them. Not sure why i don't fish them more?

I generally only use them solo in slow moving shallower water. I guess if fishing faster i would add a split shot about 6-12" and adjust weight as necessary.

I fish them wading and jig them in the water column downstream without retrieving any line so it is in their face for an extended time. They general hit it on the fall. Try changing out the colors.
