Lightbulb Help stock trout on the Musconetcong river:

Rick Ege is looking for help to stock the Musky on Fridays of the in-season stocking which begins Friday, April 10th through May (6 weeks). His cell # is 973-222-0734 and that is the best way to reach him. Volunteers must be WCC registered with the Division which is easy. Without volunteers, Rick will be forced to end this stocking which has helped greatly to spread out the angling pressures on our longest trout river because he can reach locations the stocking trucks cannot.

Start at 7am at Pequest and are usually done around 1pm
Correction, we start at 7am at the Hackettstown Hatchery.

This program is on its 9th year, with great success! This is my second year on the stocking team. This program differs from stocking on the Raritan and other rivers. The fish are placed throughout the river, not just thrown off bridge overpasses. It takes the pressure off the fish, allows for a greater hold over population and allows anglers to fish the entire river for Trout.

If you are looking for new places to fish, volunteer.. you will not be disappointed!. It's THE BEST way to learn the Musconetcong River. You will see places to fish that are impossible to figure out on your own.

It is recommended that you complete the NJ Wildlife Conservation Corps application. There is no charge for joining. The Application is available at
