Default Lots of life!

My winter depression is finally wearing off! Sunday we went to Sandy hook looking for waves. There was a lot of bird activity, picking up baitfish in the wash. Two seals showed up, one adult and one baby. Shortly after they left a dolphin was spotted! It was right on shore riding the waves and feasting on what I think were rain fish. I was so surprised considering how cold the water still is. Leaving Sandy hook around sunset I saw a happy seagull with a larger fish on the bay side, about bunker sized. Monday night we went to sea bright looking for waves, and found them. I was standing about knee deep on the shore taking pictures when a seal popped up afew feet in front of me, looking right at me. I accidentally scared him with my "holy shit!" Scream. He then observed us from a safe distance until we left, he even followed us up the beach. He was curious and non aggressive. He barked alittle, we named him Franklin Cornellious III. and last but not least, I was sitting in the usual traffic going over the red bank/middletown bridge around 6:30pm lastnight when I noticed an osprey fishing. He hit the water and came up with what looked like a herring. Then an adult bald eagle flew over and the battle started. It was quick, and the Eagle won. He flew away with his stolen dinner, and I was smiling ear to ear. Spring is here!

Looking at that picture it becomes clear why surfers are attacked by sharks. I never knew they wore seal costumes!
