Spruce Run 10-20-2014 Night Report

So after the windy weekend in the New York Delaware River side ponds and lakes where I had to lay down a law upon some feisty fish I went back to Round Valley armed with some knowledge.

Time fished: 7:30pm to 11pm

Bait used: Chicken Livers as suggested.

Areas fished: Shore line around campground area.

After it was suggested to use chicken livers for some bottom catfishing I decided why not. NO treble hooks though. Action was almost instant from the first cast. One after another those bottom dwellers were lured by the nasty smell. Most were channels not something that I was looking for and not in the size that I would of loved. Finally after an hour managed to hook up with I nice 24 inch 3lbs white cat which have its fate sealed as soon as I took it out. Beautiful and clean fish. Couldn't keep my eyes of it. After another hour I hooked up to what I was another good size one but ....it was something else that made the night go from awesome to epic. Yes my friends a hybrid. Although it was mentioned to me that they go for the livers I did not expect to get one in about 15 feet of water. Not big, just about 16 inches and about little over a pound. But for me it was a first hybrid caught ever and it was caught of shore. It was a night to remember and one I want to repeat so will be back tonight.

If my friend will be kind enough to send me pictures fish porn will be posted. Until then have to wait for a new lense to arrive for my camera.

Catfish and hybrids on livers...NICE. Have caught the cats on this bait and heard that the hybrids like it also, but have not tried. Great Report and keep it up!
