Re: Carnegie Lake
I fished the D & R in recent years, not interesting enough to do it this fall. October is best. Mostly pickerel, some largemouth. Muskies have been stocked by the state, tigers, I presume. Walleye & channel catfish have worked into the system for years, but they're rare. Find walleye at the locks, where the gush of water slows, but remains pretty strong, if you find any at all. I never have, but have heard plenty stories, one of which I know is reliable. Have witnessed two smallmouths caught. We used to catch pickerel through January and February by teasing them out of submerged brush with crappie jigs. The shoreline brush is the key.
