Default Spring Lake?

I have been to spring lake a couple times for bass and trout but I never had any luck. (I have had better luck in the surf ) I have had 1 bass missed on a frog in the lily pads. Anybody know any good baits or techniques to fish it? Thanks

Default Re: Spring Lake?

I fish Spring Lake a lot. Fishing is best when the water is high, especially after a very heavy rain. Fishing the pads is a waste of time; for whatever reason the bass don't stage there. Fish a spinnerbait or a soft jerkbait along the concrete walls and near any wood cover you can find. For trout, if you don't want to join the powerbaiters, try using a suspending jerkbait twitched erratically at dawn or dusk. The water may have become too warm for trout by now.
