Default Kids know fishing is fun Photo Contest

The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife has announced a new state-wide contest focusing on fishing in the state, the Fishing Fun Photo Contest. The contest is designed for families and friends to share the fun and excitement of fishing through a photo of a child fishing or with a fish they've caught.

The winning photos will be those that best capture the theme of the contest - kids know fishing is fun in New Jersey. First, second and third place winners for each category will be selected. Winners will receive fishing-related gear and be invited, with their immediate families, to fish at the Pequest Trout Hatchery's Fishing Education Pond on opening day of trout season.

For more information on the contest, including rules, suggestions for taking photos, a printable flyer, and the photo submission and release form to be submitted with the entry, visit http://www.njfishandwildlife.com/photocontest.htm .

they want pictures of kids having fun so they can promote fishing to other kids (and people with kids). just think of it the same way as a kids essay contest or whatever... some panel of judges will flip through the entries and randomly pick the winners.

still, it's a plenty good excuse to take some kids fishing

-Multiple submissions per child will be accepted as long as the fish species depicted are different in each photograph.
-Only one photograph of a child fishing (no fish in hand, just the act of fishing) may be submitted.

This makes no sense. It say multiple species can be shown. But then it says no fish in hand. I dont get it?? And it say multiple submissions will be acepted. But then again it says only one photograph of a child fishing may be submited.

seems pretty straightforward to me... you can send in one picture of the kid fishing w/o any fish, plus as many additional pictures of the kid with fish as you want, as long as it is a different species in each. so if the kid gets skunked, you can send in 1 picture of the kid fishing. if the kid catches a perch a bass and a sunfish, you could send in up to 4 pictures (one of the kid with no fish, one with the perch, one with the bass, one with the sunfish)

It's run by the state, it's not supposed to make sense

Wow I'm an idiot. I read it wrong. I got one more question can you send a smallmouth and large mouth or a brown vs rainbow trout. or does it still count as the same species.

They're not the same species.

I was confused at first also. I'm easily confused.
Second time I read it seemed clearer.
