My handle does the same. Never fixed it just got use to it. Broke the center pin twice, lol. Found replacements at the local hardware store. Just tap out the old and tap in the new. Just make sure you get the right size or it may break again easier.........

Wal mart carries the pins and extra props.. had the same thing happen to me. I may have the handle part confused but mine slides out also and it's supposed to.

You just need to get the shear pin assembly. It's very easy to fix. I had the same thing happen to mine last year and bought the part for a few bucks and fixed it in LT 5 minutes. As someone else mentioned, Franks in Wanaque sells the parts. That's where I got mine. Make sure you have the model of your motor though. WalMart may have them but probably only for models they sell.

Always keep an extra pin in the boat. 5 min fix and it doesn't have to ruin your day. Very common issue

As common as it is, it's happened to me once in my life. Luckily it was at Round Valley and I had the outboard on. If I was at Merrill Creek or one of the watershed lakes I would have been SOL. I keep forgetting to put the oars in the boat for emergencies. Anyway, when I bought the new shear pin it came as a 2 pack, so the other one is in my tackle box just in case.
