Default togorama

Hey guys, remember the song ,what a difference a day makes?A great song and a lot of truth. On SUNDAY i had a group of sharpies on the boat EXPECTED A GREAT DAY SINCE FRIDAY WAS GOOD.Was not to be,25 knots from the nw, east heave equals a tough day.canceled sat. in the face of 30 knot winds which never happened. Now comes monday, had acharter made up of 3 young boys and their dad. They have been with me many times and the kids are great but in the face of the tough day on sunday,i called the father sunday night and tried to talk him out of the triptill another day.He told me kids were all charged up and cant wait to go .The wind had stopped howling and the ocean was pretty nice as we broke the inlet at six fifteen.Didnt know what to expect after being out with the experts the day before and having a tough day.Really wanted the kids to have a good time.Made several drops with little success.Kids were getting a little bored ,knew i had to bend their rods.Decided to take a shot and try some shallow water, told the dad we were going to take a ride.Twenty minutes later dropped the hook and hoped for the best.Told the kids i want them to catch just one fish, dad asked me why just one?I replied if we catch one,we will catch 50.This spot is either red hot or ice cold,no in betweens. Two minutes later ,the dads rod doubles over with a nice tog, from then on it was a leap job.KIDS HOOPIN AND HOLLERIN WITH SMILES A MILE WIDE.wAS GREAT WATCHING THESE KIDS SETTING the hook AND SETTING drag AS I SHOWED THEM MANY TIMES BEFORE.There was a nice mix of shorts and keepers.Since i had as much fun as the kids i almost told the dad,the smiles on the kids faces was payment enough for me ,this trip is on me.YOU NOTICE I SAID ALMOST BUT NOT QUITE.Seriosly, whats better than putting a smile on a youngsters face. The smile on this old mans face was as broad as the kids.ONE GREAT DAY.STAY WELL ALL ,CAPT.TOMMY JOSEPH
