Default Merrill Creek Reservoir

Made my first trip up there last Saturday. Very windy so we didn't stay as long as I wanted. Some of the regulars pulled a few Trout as well as a young girl with her father who landed a nice 6lb trout. Nice to see the kids getting into it. Beautiful place, looking forward to fishing it again with less wind. P.S. If anyone happens to hook into a Shimano Clarus rod with a Pflueger reel let me know . It was last seen leaving my jackass of a step fathers hand at a high rate of speed over the side of the boat never to be seen again. Carpal Tunnel my ass!!!

You may have seen Super from the site there, I think he was up there with his daughter that day. Sorry for the lost rod and reel, I will keep an eye out for it. Better days fishing ahead there, although I think it shuts down a bit in July and August.

Default Re: Merrill Creek Reservoir

I have the boat loaded and have been sitting here for 20 minutes trying to decide Monksville or Merrill Creek. I'm thinking Merrill might be a bit too breezy, report said 12 mph but gusts over 20. On the other hand I don't want to have to strap on the outboard for Monksville.

This does it, Merrill it is. If I catch anything good I'll be back with pics. BTW my go to trout rod is a Clarus with a Pfleuger President.
