Default Public service announcement

I know that lures can get expensive, ( i'm buying for 2, son and i) but please people show some courtesy and respect for your fellow fishermen out there. My son and I went to a high risk/high reward spot that is prone to snags and every time this guy snagged he literally waded out to get his lure and in the process got in the way of lines drifting down river and more then likely spooked any fish that may have been there. I was going to post more about this person and not in a nice way (lol) but figured I'd instead throw this out there in hopes other people see this and don't follow in his footsteps and just make a donation to the river as i have oh so many times vs disturbing others fisherman.

What can you do?
Some people are just ****ing stupid and can't make the connection between their stomping around in the water and the fish they are trying to catch.

Whenever I see some asshat do something phenomenally stupid like let his dog jump in the water in-between bank-fishermen and my blood starts to boil, I try to calm myself with the mantra, "This is public land and everybody has a right to be here - even if they're a shithead.".

I've gone in plenty of times to retrieve terminator spinners. At 10$ a pop I don't have the $$ to make those kinds of donations. If it's just a hook n sinker or a cheap jig head/worm I will let it snap off.

What about the people that aren't snagged and come wading down the middle of the river.

Remember, 50% of fishermen are below average at it.

I always look for a spot where I can be alone, if possible. If there's too many guys, I'll sit and watch or go elsewhere. Better than me losing my temper, which has been known to happen. Someone standing 20' away from me casting, it just makes my blood boil. Especially with so much water and numerous spots.

I've also been known to jump in after the odd lure lost. But certainly not at anyone else's expense of fishing.
