Hardcore Hybrids.........Part 2

Well, I was contemplating going today or not and Phil asked me if I was going so rather than sit home pissed all day I took a chance. 40% chance of rain so I knew I was gonna get wet but went for it anyway. The ride up was looking so so till I got close and hit the first thunderstorm. Got to the ramp about eight and Phil and Tom were already on the water. We fished in a on and off in a monsoon of rain/lighting/thunder in between periods of sunshine.
Some body really pissed off mother nature today! Anyway about an hour and a half in I get my first, nice five pounder! Was happy with that not expecting much. Not long after the drag is screamin again!! After a lengthy battle in the pouring rain I slid the net under her belly and screamed for joy!
The fish was a BEAST, EIGHT POUNDS TWO OUNCES!!!! Beating my personal best of seven and a half by ten ounces!!!! Missed one and lost one after that, then it slowed up for a few hours. We docked the boats for safety during one of the storms and had some laughs. Phil had a big fish too and wanted me to weigh it for him. His fish went SEVEN POUNDS ONE OUNCE!!!
His Personal Best as well!!!! So after the rain let up we headed back out and fished for a while without much going on and then I hook up again and break off! I was not happy about that as you could imagine so kept at it and the reels screamin again! While i'm fighting this one the other reel starts screamin and I'm screamin DOUBLE HEADER!!!! YEEEEEEEA!!!! I landed BOTH FISH!!!!! YEA BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! went back at it and again another which I landed!!! WHAT A WAY TO END THE SUMMER,ON FIRE IN THE RAIN!

Damn Dale......that fish is a serious fatty. Hardcore fishing ...love it. Congrats to Phil on the PB. Now we have a short week so we can get into-em soon.....I'M PUMPED

Sucks that pic does no justice to the size of the fish but I was more concerned with her release and not ruining my digital camera. Wish someone was in the boat with me to get some good pics! She was exhausted after our battle and took a few to revive her but she gave me the tail splash and off she went. All those fish were released in good shape!!!!
I ended up with six landed and missed one and broke off two!!!!
NOT A BAD DAY FOR THE SOGGY BOTTOM BOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And after today Phil and Tom are def members of: TEAM HARDCORE!!!!!

That was the most fun I ever had fishing in the rain. I would post the picks of you in the monsoon, but my phone crapped out from all the water. I think they could hear you in Clinton when you caught that big one. We hooked a double shortly after that and it was my PB, at least for this year. Anyway that was some real hardcore fishing. Do Tom and I get into H.A.A. now. Your the chairman of the board. We certainly were the SOGGY BOTTOM BOYS. That's funny but you had to be there.

You gotta be careful out there when lightning is in the area.

awesome job dale, that wiper is a beast, pics dont do them justice unless someone else is taking them. I may have to take a ride down there one day when I can fish all day
