I didn't know the man personally, only knew of him and met him once on the 2012 PUOSU Ocean Explorer trip. Needless to say, I see why everyone who did know him have all said how much he'll be missed, he was a very enthusiastic guy who loved what he did. I'm very sorry to hear of the tragedy and will pray for his family to get through these tough times.

So Sorry for your loss Tom. I know how tight you guys were and I know you're devastated.
I've known Mike for the better part of 14 years, and having fished with him on many occasions (both on my boat and on others' boats) Mike was simply a great guy, who was a hall of fame ball buster - he had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off his back for anyone in need. Over the last couple of years we haven't talked much, but I would occasionally get a text, PM, or phone call - it was always something that made me laugh. That was Mike. When I got the text and call this morning Tom I was in shock - I simply couldn't believe it. I'm numb, still in shock, and am devastated. He did a hell of a lot for this website - he will be missed by all here. He also did a lot for many of our businesses, and made countless friends from simply being "out there" and not always just behind the computer screen. Prayers go out for him, and for his family. For Tom and his other close friends, prayers and thoughts go out to you as well. RIP Mike  |
