Default Any kid friendly fishing derbies this weekend?

I have been looking all over the internet for a fishing derby to take me four year old son to this weekend. Seems as though the ones I have attended in the past are not during opening weekend. Any help??

Spring Lake, but it is a zoo and the adults make it no fun for the kids.

I'm pretty sure Echo Lake(Union County) has a fishing derby not 100% though.

Spring Lake is a good shot at a nice fish but if you are easily agitated by disrespectful adults you may want go check out either options. Good group of guys who run the show over there.

Decided to try our luck at Bayne Park for the derby. There were about 45 people with the same idea and sadly enough, not a fish for anyone. Tons of people were questioning whether or not they forgot to stock the pond this year (hope it wasn't poached before the derby). My son had a blast anyway trying to cast for the first time- he definitely has the reeling part down pat. Anyway, I will take his smile over a fish every time.
