While you are correct this is basically CT, RI, NY waters not so much Mass. The major rec boats that target the cod in Mass start their cod season out front on April 16th when those waters open which is what these posts are referring too.

I know that Eastmans in NH is starting on 3/29 but they will be targeting Haddock and Pollack as Cod is closed until 4/16. Tuna.com and Relentless are starting early as well. Walsh's American Classic in Lynn, MA was fishing South of the 42 line so you could keep Cod but as far as I know he isn't going out any more.
