![]() I wouldn't suggest a level wind for saltwater use, but that's just me. I would suggest the Avet SX as it's a little powerhouse of a reel and can be used for everything you mentioned. You get used to leveling the line with your thumb real quickly. As far as a rod, you can try a Bogan Fish Poison rod. I have two of them and they're awesome rods for the money.

![]() Paired my Avet SX with a Bogan custom rod. Great match. I Also have one paired up on a Tsunami rod(Heavier action). The AVET also has the Mechanical Cast or Magnetic control(depending on model) to help prevent back lash. Love the power the reel has when fighting a fish.

![]() Look at a tekota 500 or 600. around $150. They hold up well and have level winds. A penn 310 GTI isnt thwe "cool guy" reel, but it works great at under $100.

![]() The Daiwa Lexa 300 is an awesome reel for what you posted here. Unreal drag, super light and a definite fish winch .
Has WAY more drag than alot of the Round reels , and casts like a baitcaster should. effortlessly. Those of us who have fished them for the last year cant believe this reel had not come out sooner. The lami triflex 7030 as well as the lami inshore classic is a great set up with this reel. Daiwa is also supposed to unleash some new salt water rods this April, based on the demand for stripers, fluke and blackfish , supposed to be around 6 new rods coming out
