Default Green Turtle Pond 5/22

Better late than never right? Took the maiden voyage in my buddies new boat(23 cardinal) and went to green turtle. Great little lake especially for a small boat and a test run.

Morning started slow with 3 of us throwing everything from shiners to cranks. Started catching sunnies on a rooster tail and that was our go to for the rest of the day. Caught some huge sunnies, crappie, a perch, around 4 pickerel, 2 or 3 bass and capped the trip off with a nice little trout that picked up on powerbait.

Bass and one of the pickerel took a live herring. Everything else was most rooster or spinner bait. Same yesterday, will get to post it later.

I've seen some pretty big bass there cruising the shallows, but haven't caught other than dinks. I've had best luck with trout there though. They hold over and you can get them all summer long in the deep end near the dam. Green Turtle gets heavy pressure in ice fishing season, and from shore anglers, but I rarely see more than half a dozen boats on the water.

Quite a few yakers, and yea I grabbed a trout. U can see that bass, but they don't bite. Think they eat herring.
Yea it's nice. We've been on weekends and it's not over crowded
Road to boat launch is a little prickly, but i scouted it in a Subaru Impreza, so it's not that bad
