Just makes it easy to cover different depths with the light flutter spoons in fast water. Typically drop them to the bottom then crank up 2 turns. But different days are different, right now during the sunny days with clear water I keep them closer to the bottom then overcast days or last light I crank them higher up. Other wise you are just casting out lines with different weights on with different lengths guessing how deep they are running.

This was the first time I used the rapalas. Got some 6ft divers, take off the treble hooks, tie on a 2ft leader to the back of the Rapala with your flutter spoon. Was surprised how well they worked once we figured out how much line to let out
