Default Easy Fish Tacos

Ingredients:

8 flour tortillas
2 to 2.5 lbs fish fillets (white, flaky fish works best)
Seafood fry breading
2 cups shredded lettuce
1 cup diced tomato
3/4 cup ranch dressing
1/4 cup taco sauce (hot or mild, depending on your taste)

Cut fillets into 1 inch by 4-5 inch strips. Coat evenly in breading and fry until cooked through (I recommend deep frying if you can). While fish is cooking, mix ranch dressing and taco sauce in a bowl and set aside. Place cooked fish on a paper towel for a few minutes to drain excess oil. Distribute fish strips evenly down the centers of the tortillas. Drizzle each with one tablespoon of the ranch/taco sauce mixture. Evenly distribute shredded lettuce and tomato on top of the fish. Drizzle another tablespoon of the ranch sauce on top. Fold over tortillas and serve.

Sounds like a winner, heading down to Florida this week, first mutton or yellowtail snapper is going to get introduced to this recipe.

I make this same thing but instead of frying up the strips, I blacken the fish with Paul Prudhome's (sp?) blackfish magic. good stuff

We do our fish tacos California style:

deep fry white fish: Ling, sea bass, or black fish are excellent.

Take two corn tortillas, softened in hot oil and place fish, ground cabbage, cilantro (lots), avacado dip (we prefer avacados w/garlic salt/no lemon juice), a small amount of sour cream, tomatoes, and pepper (hot or sweet, your preference) to taste and Roll and enjoy.

Was in S California a few years back and this how they served them near the beach...awesome @ home also!

I do crunchy panko deep fry with a sauce that consists of sourcream dilluted with lime juice and spices. Two corn tortilla, fish, sauce, cilantro squeeze of lime and a shot of hot sauce washed down with a Corona or 4. Perfect meal. Cabbage is for rabbits.

This sounds really good. I may have to try this with the new filets.
