Dexter 2333-9 is my goto! I heat tempered mine so it doesn't rust. Just heat it up with a torch and dip it in used motor oil. Works great.

Will give it a try as I constantly need to maintain mine to take care of rust issue.

As a deckhand, I could tell you the best knife on the market is a dexter 1378. It's covers everything, from cutting bait to filleting fish. Best all around knife.
