Default effect of rising water and cold weather?

What's the effect of rising water level and cold weather on bass fishing in your opinion?

I caught 15, largemouth and smallies, in about 3 hours of shore fishing on the Monongahela River in PA this morning. A few really nice fish too. It was 45 degrees when I started fishing, the wind was blowing 20mph from the NW and the river was on its way up. Maybe it was the full moon.

Barometric pressure has more to do with the bite. Storms and fronts coming and going changes that pressure and fish as well as game are more active..
