![]() Yes, I keep the carp because they are a non-native invasive species and released carp are impossible to catch again. I released a 10 lb channel catfish in the Millstone River a few years ago. I hope to catch it again and win a NJ Skillful Angler Award.

![]() 12 lb test. I only use 2 lb test for ultralight jigging when the carp aren't biting and usually catch small panfish. Occasionally I hook a big fish on a 1/32 oz jig on 2 lb test line.

![]() .
Nice channel cat. I have to question the assumption a released carp become uncatchable. In Europe in certain pay-lakes, they catch-and-release the same carps over-and-over again. The operation wouldn't work if they couldn't be caught again. .

![]() I read on the Internet that the guy who caught the biggest carp in England donated it to the Royal Aquarium. Whenever he would feed it, the carp would never eat the bait that he caught it on. I made > 140 NJ fresh water fishing trips in crowded public fishing areas and didn't see anybody catch a carp yet this year.
