I spone to the nj fgw guys at the rockland show. They pretty much said no one knows.
Right now it all boils down to the current regs (last years) until the new idea is signed.
As for the bonus tag, he again said who knows.
Got to love this stuff. Season openes and no one has an answer.

If useful data is gained from the SBBP this is a great opportunity to put the bonus tags in the hands of the charter and party boat captains. It would help offset the tightening of the regulations for the for hire sector. I had written about the integrity of the program after hearing several people admit to not turning in the tag if they weren't checked.

Tags are not given out to charter or pb boats anymore. You have to apply for your own. It comes from the commercial quota. We will know before the season is in full swing.
