Default Waders opinion

Have to get a new pair of waders. Wondering what everyone recommends. I mostly go trout fishing but gonna try to get up to NY for salmon this year. So something warm and something I can get or wear korkers with. So need ideas for korkers too.

For as often as I go I just have cheap hodgmans. I wear layer underneath. Although I hear Simms are a great choice.

I reccomend not eating really gassy food before putting on your waders.
They only vent air one way.

Me too. Got some 3mm neoprene ones from Cabelas in the summer and used it into the fall. No problems with them.

If ya got the extra cash and want to fish comfortably i highly reccomend splurging and get simms. Reinforced knees, buildt in gravel guards, lifetime warranty, i was going through a pair of waders a year buyin the cheapos spent the extra cash on a pair of g3 guides paid like 300 bucks lasted me three seasons no leaks comfortable as hell. I was alittle nervous to thise were my first pair breathable waders now dont think id buy any else! This time year when i steelhead in the snow and fish here i throw fleece wading pants on and good to go. When it gets super cold double pair of fleece pants😉

No need for hot neoprene. Get breathable and layer up in the winter.

I got the somewhat pricey breathable stocking foot waders that have a waterproof front zipper...that in itself sold me due to my overactive bladder at certain times of fishing and teamed that up with the wading shoes with interchangeable soles of which I got the felt, studded felt, cleats, and regular sneaker bottom- its really nice to just unzip and not have to take the vest and other things off just to take a leak.

After owning several different waders I finaly bit the bullet and bought a pair of Simms G3. They are pricey but in my opinion worth every penny. Ridiculously durable, comfortable and dry as a bone thus far after a season of use.
