Default Modern Fishing Act

I mentioned this Act in a prior post. Let's make sure and get our local representative https://www.govtrack.us/congress/mem...epresentatives to get behind it.

Your email or letter might go something like this

Dear Mr or Mrs XXXXX - I'm writing here asking you to support the Modern Fishing Act. As you know, NJ's Marine fishery is vital for the recreational value it represents to our states fishermen as well as our local economy. As you will see, this bipartisan Act seeks to reform national policies on how fisheries are managed and regulations are set.

Over the past few decades, our regulations have become so restrictive, they limit access to the sport many of us enjoy which in turn, negatively impacts of our local economy. While I'm all for conservation and protecting the marine fishing stocks, the current methods and science being used nationally are flawed, outdated and not working for the fish stocks or the fishermen. This needs to change.

I'm counting on your support to get involved and get behind this important Act...

Respectfully

Everyone should get on KeepAmericaFishing---they automatically send you advisories on the issues & prepared responses to your senators/representative with your particulars(name, address, e-mail). Always get confirmation of those sent e-mails to your reps with responses during next business day...so easy, so fast---takes a minute.....

I'm worn out and disgusted by the lack of involvement. I understand everyone's frustration with things not going our way so many times. But we have to keep trying nobody likes a quitter

Its maddening that NJ representatives have not co-signed this bill.
Remember who votes for this critical legislation in November.
If this bill isn't passed recreational fisherman will continue to struggle with even more restrictive regulations.
