Smile Little help

Coming to Wayne June 4-8 want to try a little trout fishing. Can anyone point me in the right direction to start. Has been 25 years since my last trout outing in nj. I always liked the ramapo and the big flatbrook. I have 3 days to explore again. Not looking for your secret spot just a little help

Thx. Bc

Never fished it myself but from what I've read on this site you can't go wrong with the Flatbrook. The Raritan is a ton of fun, same with the ramapo.

All spots mentioned above should have wild or stocked trout available to catch. We have had a normal amount of rain in NW Jersey this spring, which seems like a lot of rain because we've had a below normal amount the past few years. With yesterday's rains bringing flows above normal, and along with the fact that temps are supposed to be seasonable next week means the fish should be around.

If I were in your situation, I would check the flows online a day before you plan on fishing and decide based on which stream has flows closest to my liking (for me that's close to normal). But hey you've gotta fish where and when you can.
