Default Yaking saturday

Went with a buddy to green turtle- still don't feel great in the yak- so I wanted to stay small and away from the flotilla- 2 or 3 lmbin the magic hours- then another friend came by at 9 after a rain shower- bite calmed- so we just got lazy and picked an pannies perch and kitties-saw a real big slime dart but didn't chase him- had a good day drinking-lake is mostly out of big fish(bucket brigade)- did get a 4lb white cat before the heavy rain pushed us to the bar

Small fish ate worms- larrys on a jig with a craw- a spin bait and a swimming shad(a first!)

Edit-my doc is full of it- wings and beer def. help hernia heartburn

it's good to hear that place still has fisha white catfish, cool catch. that place can be tough to catch anything, without the bucket brigade makin it harder. its not that big to be hammered hard. lets hope the commerants don't show up in numbers as well.

Saw 3 of them - fish are def breeding- without the big fish they were running wild in the shallows- big schools of small bass mixed with blue gills- got two that were thumb sized on worms- aggressive-and hysterical

I do ok ther- worms or shiners in the 2-15 range- shallows get picked over and the fish learn it- even the pumpkinseeds run at 6ft- forgot how pretty they are

Never underestimate the swimshad for ALL species. Specifically with Bass, most of my longest Bass (21"-22") were taken on swimshads...small ones. Super versatile lure.

When I complain that that the creel-limits in New Jersey are too liberal to sustain a quality fishery under the current levels of fishing pressure, I'm told I'm not educated enough to have an opinion on such matters.
