8/6 LH wipers
Got out this morning for 2 hrs on the lake, was a beautiful morning out there. I have 2 props on loan from a minnesota prop shop i gotta send back. I made a run last night on the first one but it got kinda dark after getting the second one on so I decided to goto work "late" and test the 2nd one this morning. I stumbled on a school of wipers chomping on herring so I made a quick run to Dows and grabbed a dozen and got into some hybrids. Got a few nice ones out of a school of bigger fish, all 5lbs+ these two going around 6ish and fought HARD. Man I wish I was retired already, just a few boats on the whole lake and theyre a bunch of old guys that just fish all day...........what a life...........pics to prove it happened

Re: 8/6 LH wipers
I love me some 'BRIDney Spears . Jimmy how has the weeknight boat traffic been? I've got next week off and would like to try to get up there and not get run over by Captain Morgan and the Dos Equis guy.

I don't always go to Lake Hopatcong...
But when I do, I prefer Dos Equis.

Re: 8/6 LH wipers
the weekends are ridiculous, I wish sept would come already, its dangerous. Weekdays arent bad, last night there werent too many boats out there, but they still churn it up pretty good. I made my WOT runs from riverstyx bridge to pickeral point, only semi-flat spot to run open. Kinda scary doing 47-48 in a walleye boat lol. If I had off Id be hitting it every morning, there was NOBODY out there, like glass all morning, I didnt wanna leave. They are still getting them at night, just not all topwater bites now, u can find schools and stay on them fishing herring they come up a little higher at night and still some topwater bites on eyes and wipers, just no bait working now really.
Mitch I woulda called u to come up but I new I coudnt stay out long and my main mission was getting WOT run numbers, wasnt even rly planning on fishing til my sonar lit up and I always got some rods in the rod locker Next week Im gonna play a half day of hookie Ill def get u on some nice stripers |
