Default Raritan Bay 4/21

Decided to toss some clams around 3pm with the incoming tide. Nothing at all. No hits either. Didnt seem like anyone else was doing well either, but could have just been the location I was at. Thats fishing for ya

At least you were out there trying. Spent a couple of hours fishing spots in Point Pleasant yesterday with no luck, but enjoyed myself regardless.

It seems that the boats are catching. We will get our shot soon.

I fish the bay all the time from both the shore and boat. Try fishing the outgoing tide. That is when you have the warmer water and they are more aggressive. I have watched water temps on the boat for both tides. definately warmer on the outgoing. That is when i have caught my fish. Got some Sunday on the incoming but they were nibbling and had to hold the rod to get a hook up. Thought they were skate or small fish but managed 2 and 3 shorts.

I've been catching bass in the bay for two weeks now at our secret bass hole. They are eating clams and worms, and when we cut open our keepers they have bellies full of baby blue claws and green crabs about 1' big.
