It Floats!
After the long winter and the addition of many new parts, I finally got the chance to launch my new to me Skeeter bass boat. Arrived at Lake Lefferts at Noon for the shakedown cruise/ fishing trip. Launching was a success and the boat was a great upgrade from the jon boat I fished from for over 20 years. The 101lb thrust trolling motor is a beast and will put you in the water if you are not careful. Will need some time to learn which switch does what when using the livewells. Back to the ramp at 2:30. Retrieving was not so smooth as launching. It took a few times in and out to figure out the angle the boat would go on best as the drive on bunk trailer is near impossible to winch the boat more than a few inches. I am sure a better launch area would make that task easier. Btw we threw spinnerbaits, rapala minnows, sencos, and rooster tails but not a fish to be caught. Nor did we see any baitfish. Water was between 48 and 51 degrees and very clear.
