Freshwater Spinning Gear
Hey guys I am getting into the freshwater thing and found a great group of guys to fish with but I need some gear. I have crappie / trout rods but I need something a little bigger. I am a Shimano guy for my saltwater gear but pretty clueless when it comes to fresh. Any suggestions?

Re: Freshwater Spinning Gear
All depends on how much money you want to spend. I buy almost all Shimano spinning reels. Even the lower-end Shimano's are pretty reliable and will last a lifetime with the proper care. As far as rods, I buy mostly Loomis and St. Croix, but there are definitely some solid sticks that you can get out there for less money. Hope that helps.

Re: Freshwater Spinning Gear
Careful with the Loomis freshwater rods, they have a VERY HIGH graphite content and they snap like twigs.
Any $60.00 Diawa and a Conolon Premier rod (Wal-Mart) 40 bux |
