Default Long Branch surf report

Fished long branch area surf for a couple of hours around high tide on Saturday, yesterday and today. No bass yet.

On Saturday, started at sun up with a buddy. Between the two of us we caught 5 fluke and one blue. Fished alone next two days.

Yesterday was a little challenging with strong S winds. Caught a small blue and fluke.

Today, conditions were better with NW winds but caught nada. Only one hit... probably a small fluke. Saw a large fish jump twice a few hundred yards off the beach. There have been porpoises off the beach every day but this was too long and narrow. Launched itself clear out of the water and landed on its tail at about the same angle. The shape made me think of a wahoo but I'm thinking it may have been a sturgeon? Are sturgeon around this time of year? off the ocean beaches?

Had one (about 5' -6' long) jump less than 50 feet from the boat last month near TC buoy. Huge noisy splash.

They seem to appear every year now. First one I saw was in Raritan Bay about 10 years ago jump.

Same report for Sea Bright. Nothing happening and ocean was like a lake. No boots and I was comfortable.
