Fluke Report(s) Boat & Beach!
Gentlemen,
Been a long time since I've posted anything here. The Henriques left for New Hampshire just before July 4th, and since then I've been on vacation and have been doing some boat shopping, which has been relatively successful but we are not quite ready to pull the trigger on the rig that we like - this is more of a waiting game right now!
I've been fishing quite a bit, a lot from the beach catching some fluke and also catching some tog since we've gotten back from Florida on the inside.
Saturday I was lucky enough to get out on my buddy Fred’s 29’ Topaz/Bimini for a fluke trip. Fred let me do some of the work and we fished a few of my hangs and had at times good action with near limits of fluke and seabass + 1 ling and 1 banded rudderfish. Weather was wild going from light south to hard NE and chop + rain and lightning and a 2 kt drift. Fred had a double header keeper first thing which were two 20" fish, and Eric had the big fish of the day around 5.5#.
Water was crystal clear and we saw some sharks and plenty of rudderfish as well as bunker all over the ocean. Nice day and Fred, thanks for having us!
My guys went out again Sunday, and Tommy had an 8#er and Larry "Flukemaster" wound up with a 20# COBIA on his bucktail, all while I was at the Yankee game LOL.
