Default First Flathead (5/23/16)

I've been eager to catch a flathead catfish for a while now, so Monday night I took my first serious night flathead trip. Met up with Chrisper and we headed out.

Got set up around 830, and within 5 min I'm getting a run off. I set the hook and quickly lipped my first flathead. The fish was long but not very fat.

Got set up again, confident that it were going to see more action. Unfortunately, it was my only bite of the night and we pulled the plug a few hours later. It was definitely a lot of fun and I can't wait to get back out after a bigger one!

I spy a guy with his first Flathead! I like it! Congrats on your first! How did it feel when you reeled that little Invasive Cat in? They're a great fight and most people on here have no clue! Great catch Tuna man! Interesting blackout pic as well! LOL!!!

Thanks! It was a giant sucker that was wallowing right at the shoreline. It was pretty beat up but still breathing. I just left it in the shallows.

Congrats. They sure are a boat load of fun, I'm still trying to figure them out on the delaware. Know one or two spots I can get them consistently but they are a pain in the butt to fish. So have been trying a few other spot with no love. Got one more spot up my sleeve before I give in to the pain in the butt spots
