13” white crappie
Went carping in 62 degrees Carnegie Lake this evening on a warm, sunny day with a light south wind. The Millstone River was still covered with weeds. Bugs were flying. Only saw two fishermen. Took pictures of one catching a nice bass on the Aqueduct. The fishing 🎣 was great because of the rising water temperature. Threw out corn 🌽 for chum, then caught and released 22 white perch, a yellow perch, a largemouth bass, a black crappie and a 13” white crappie with a 1/32 oz twister tail jig on 2 lb test line. The white crappie fought very well and I thought it was going to break my line. On my last cast of the night, I caught and released a white catfish with canned whole kernel corn 🌽 bait. Photographers took a lot of photos of the resident great blue heron catching and swallowing fish 🐟. I saw it make some incredible catches. Rowers were on the lake.
