Opening day on the musky
Hit up a few spot yesterday on the musky. First spot at the starting whistle. Nada. Moved on to second spot. Walked up stream away from the crowd and found a deep hole stacked with the stockies. Must have caught 20 or so. Kept 1 trout about 15", all others released. Move to stop 3. Worked the river and came across trout rising to whatever was hatching and managed to fool a few with trout magnets. Found a deep hole a see a bruiser come out and munch my trout magnet. Landed him, second keeper for me. Also at this spot, lost a beauty as it popped the hook after a nice fight in the current. On to spot 4. Wanted to check a spot new to me, and was glad I did. Walking away from the crowds was able to find a deep hole and catch my biggest trout of the day. 3 keepers for me total out of about 30 or so rainbows caught. I think all the fish I kept were holdover from last year. Flesh was nice pink/orange and the fish were full of snail shells.

Re: Opening day on the musky
Sounds like a phenom day. Should’ve stopped by the creek for some food. We had plenty. You got yourself a nice holdover for sure.
