Canyon Runner Weekend Striper Report - Open Dates

After taking a few weeks off since our arrival back from the North Carolina bluefin season to get the boats ready for 2013 New Jersey we were happy to be back out on the water Saturday with both boats. Capt. Phil took the 60 Ritchie in the morning with the Owen Dinsmore charter and trolled a handful of bass on plugs off the Rocks while Capt. Mark had a better afternoon trolling plugs just north of Manasquan Inlet with the Al Hughes charter.

The Sunday trip saw much slower fishing with the both boats doing a morning trip in less than stellar weather. Big swells and a northeast chop took it's toll on the charters and the fishing and only a few fish were caught on both boats.

Looks like we need some warm weather and west winds to move in before the ocean really breaks open.
