Mosquitoes
Got mosquito🦟 bites the past 4 evenings in 4 different Central Jersey fishing spots. I may start bringing my Thermacell soon but it didn’t keep the mosquitoes away last fall. Anyone ever use an electronic insect repeller that actually worked?

Re: Mosquitoes
The only thing that works is 100% DEET. Muskol if you can find it... OFF Deep Woods doesnt have 100% DEET. Cutter MAY make one that's strong. I pre-spray my clothes if I anticipate the blood suckers being present, but I dont usually find them to be a nuisance at the hours I often fish...

Re: Mosquitoes
Isn't it a little early for the NJ state bird to out? Hate those damn things!

Re: Mosquitoes
My kids have been getting lit up in my yard already, and I dont have any standing water laying around. It's awful.

Re: Mosquitoes
jigman is 100% right. Besides living in NJ most of my life, I went to school in Northern IL, with trips to WI and MN too. Never thought those midwest black flies were as bad as mosquitos but they were. Out there no sportsmen hit anywhere near where they flew around.
Haven't heard someone metion Muskol since I was out there and came back. Use the 100% DEET. If you think you have an allergy, just spray it on your clothes (arms and legs and back). Trust me those NJ flying critters will stay away from you. |
