Default Bitsy 'bows and PA browns

Got my trout fix in this weekend , + took monday off for even more.
I met up with Pode for the 2nd time ever, since running into him on the North branch Raritan, he caught his first NJ wild rainbow then proceeded to smack a bunch more + the best of the day. We caught only a couple of browns in the same stream. He almost got a trifecta but I wasn't counting creek chubs no matter how much they looked like brookies lol.

Sunday and Monday I hit PA and had fun with inline spinners. One run I had a few misses on the spinner and they didnt seem interested in it after, but then landed two with a jig-nymph under a bobber. I ended up losing a nice and long one later on the spinner but cant complain.

I seem to lose trout on spinners more so then I ever do on jigs. likely something to do with how they hook up. Im cutting off one of the hooks on the treble so likely thats one cause.

I had a great time, and the scenery was gorgeous! I still have to work on the finesse of setting the hook on a little wild trout... I was timid about it because I didn't want to yank too hard and send em flying into a rock

Looks like you had a lot of success out in PA, I'll have to tag along next time!

Not trying to be a dick but tis the season for browns and brookies to be getting it on and creating the next generation of catches. You might consider letting them have at it in peace. The stockies are your friend right now. End of PSA.

Have at it with the wild rainbows until spring spawn.

Otherwise nice looking fish.

most of the browns seemed to be stocked, maybe even by a club upstream. I know they too also spawn- stocked or not- but figure if i gotta get my ass up and fish Im gonna target those. I dont really target brookies, turning into a once a year thing mostly now and in spring.

Good point tho when im in the wild brown creeks specifically. I was hoping by now they are all done spawning. Would they still be doing their thing at this time?
