for those of you that use jigs and plastics, here's a way to keep them on
I don't like using jigs with collars that always create large holes in soft plastic lures. Using no-collar jigs, I came up with a way that makes sure the lure doesn't slip down: enter the Grub Grip
You need wire cutters, pliers and wire: Take a coated floral arrangement wire and cut a piece such that one end is near the curve of the jig hook: Wrap one end tight to the post: Cut close to it and bend tight with pliers: Bend the remaining side into an L shape that swings into the lure: Wouldn't leave home without the wire grip attached: |

nice trick. Before a big trip , i will rig a bunch, pull them back a centimeter, add a drip of super glue, push it back, and it will bond well. they should keep through enough fish.
With this do they lasts? Or would they eventually tear where the wire is poking through? |

Re: for those of you that use jigs and plastics, here's a way to keep them on
I suppose it depends on where you fish... In rocky rivers/streams, the lure doesn't need to be fastened on the head, because its typically gone in a few minutes on a rock or snag... I bring 3 rods because the hangs and rocks I fish are devastating, and some days I have to re tie all 3 rods 3 or 4 times within just a few hours.. No need to worry about the hole in the plastic getting bigger...
