Went carping in 84 degrees Colonial Lake this evening during a thunderstorm. Weather was hot 🥵 and humid with a moderate south wind. Threw out corn 🌽 for chum, then caught and released 2 bluegills with an unbaited #14 gold hook on 2 lb test line. Also caught a golden shiner, bluegill, 13 lb snapping turtle 🐢 and 14 5/8” brown bullhead with canned whole kernel corn 🌽 bait. I’m applying for my NJ Skillful Angler Recognition Award #83 with the catfish. Two award winners from the same spot and on the same bait in two days is amazing 🤩. I applied for 4 awards this year. Made a video of the snapper release into the canal. Landed 58 turtles 🐢 this year.
