Fishing Contest Pig Roast Wrap Up

Man that was my favorite party we’ve had to date. Got to hand it to Mikey K and Fast Eddie for coming up with the idea, running the contest and pulling it all together. Thanks to Joe and Chris over at NJ Multi Species for running all the raffles and rallying the troops.

We certainly have a great group of people. All 73 pounds of the pig went as did most of the home made sides dishes people brought which were absolutely delicious!

to all the winners.

Although Eddie said never again, once his exhaustion wears out he’ll be chomping at the bit again. Not sure where Eddie and Mikey get all their energy and generosity but I’m sure glad to have them here making things more fun and social for all of us.

What a blast and what a crew! Thank you to everyone involved. I’m blessed to have found this website and make the connections I’ve made with the people here. So many memories made and I’m looking forward to making many more. Gerry that camp of yours is so peaceful. I can see myself there in the future for sure. Absolutely great spot. The pavilion is a great spot for people to gather. Very impressed. Let’s see what happens next year. Hahahaha! My brain will probably be bored by Tuesday! Tight lines!!!

Great time yesterday for sure. Really good to see everyone in person...including some friends I haven't seen in years. FE and Mikey...excellent job all around with the contest. Thanks for all the hard work and perseverance!

And I'm with ya Gerry...those two can't help themselves. They'll come up with another crazy cool idea and be back at it in no time! HA!

Not sure what make those two tick but they make a great team, give more than they get and so glad to have them on the site and call them my friends.

Good times for sure. Great to see some historical faces. Eddie, gerry and mikey... great idea, great execution and great job. I'm not shocked but always wonderfully surprised. That pig was delicious. I woke up craving more pig, so in to the brine went some racks of ribs for football Sunday.

Gotta love when a plan comes together.
I'd love to see a breakdown of statistics, like how many of each species entered, amount of prizes, most fish caught per location, largest fish entered, smallest fish entered, person with the most wins, number of entrants per fish so on and so forth. When you run the contest again you can compare stats from year to year and detect trends in species and areas.

Definitely one of my favorite NJF functions ever! Great friends, great food, and celebrating the fishermen who crushed it this year! Makes me tempted to actually enter the next contest (even though I don't stand a chance).
