Default 9 lb 12 oz full moon 🌕 Bomber night bass

Went fishing 🎣 in Manasquan Inlet this afternoon on a warm, sunny day during a full moon nor’wester small craft advisory and flood warning on the incoming tide after a nor’easter. Ocean was still very rough with > 20 surfers 🏄 in the pocket. Fishermen were catching undersized blackfish in the inlet with crab 🦀 bait. I didn’t get a hit on my Ava and teaser rig in the inlet. While walking 🚶 to another spot further out on the jetty I heard a young surfer 🏄*♂️ calling for help. Only one of the 20+ surfers didn’t ignore him. I took a photo. The surfer 🏄*♀️ in distress was unable to reach the beach by paddling against the rip current undertow and was exhausted. He successfully saved his own life by going onto the jetty without getting smashed by the huge waves. At night I hooked a fish 🐟 near the jetty, then walked to the beach and landed a 28” 9 lb 12 oz striped bass on a yellow ASalt Bomber. Saw a bait fisherman catch and release a spiny dogfish in the inlet at night. A spiny dogfish was swimming under the lights. Squid 🦑 fishermen were at Point Pleasant again.

Its frightening how people are so quick to ignore others in distress.. I have seen it several times.. "Sportsmen" that ignore a small boater swamped and struggling because they didn't want to interrupt their fluke drifts,- Stranded boats with disabled motors trying unsuccessfully to paddle miles back to the ramp while guys just fly past give them a glance, and then leave them in a huge wake,,, disgusting, but expected these days.. I hope that sort of thing is not the common case with members of NJF...

Leaving a boater thats stranded or swamped is bad enough, but strong young surfers letting a fellow surfer struggle without making an effort to assist him???.. I don't get it...... bob
