winter boot question
Togging is what I do most and it's coming soon. Unfortunately, my feet are always cold. I bought the Viking insulated boots but they don't keep my feet warm. I currently use my sorel snow boots but they aren't totally waterproof. Does anyone have any suggestions for a very warm waterproof boot?

Re: winter boot question
Govt surplus "bunny boots" (the white ones). I also suffer from cold feet, but not in those babies, made for standing guard duty in Korea at night in January. And they give good traction on the deck. Mine were about $60, brand new on eBay.

Re: winter boot question
Look a muck boots. They have different grades of warmth. I use them for sitting in a tree stand all day thru the winter and also on over night party boats during winter.

Re: winter boot question
Mucks or bust! Got a pair for Xmas for the ice season and they kept my feet warm on negative degree days. I got the mid leg series. They have a hi leg series that goes up to the knee, too. One pair of cotton socks or wool depending on how you sweat and you should be golden.

Listen to Capt Lou. He is Knows his stuff. When he says he has used them all he is not kidding. When he was your age they did not have winter boots way way back then. He would have to use the hide of the Wolly Mammoth and wrap that around his feet to keep warm in the winter I have a pair of Bogs i bought from West Marine about 4 years ago when i was in a pinch and needed to get a pair for trip i had that day. I fish throughout the winter in my Big Tog hunt. They turned out to be the best pair of Winter boots i have ever worn. Last edited by MVP; 08-20-2015 at 08:47 AM.. |

Re: winter boot question
Where do you usually tog out of? if you want the lightest, the warmest, and cost efficient [$50] pair of winter tog boots, look for the Marlin Green Deck Boots [Model# M1103]. They are insulated and fully waterproof. You won't be disappointed.

Re: winter boot question
Mike 1010 got it right about the "Bunny Boots". I wore those things on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan at the now defunct Kincheloe AFB. They will keep your feet warm and if I remember correctly I think there was an air portal which allowed you to pump air in when it was going past 10 below zero or you would be outside for hours.
