Default Prospertown Sunrise, no trout love

Figured I would avoid the opening day crowds and go Sunday. Got up at 5am and headed down to Prospertown lake. Other than some utility trucks the lake was empty. Walked out on the dam in the twilight and set up. The lake was dead calm and glassy. Fish were swirling on the surface and jumping on occasion. Threw a cast master for a while with no love. Put on powerbait and tried a mousetail as the sun rose. Geese were fighting as Blackbirds and Blue jays called. Saw an Osprey leave the lake and a hen Wood duck do a fly by. What a magnificent sunrise.
After an hour of solo fishing people started showing up. Two other fishermen walked out on the dam and a family of 7 started fishing from the dock. One of the older boys caught a trout on a spinner. (the only trout I saw caught) The other kids started fishing hard for a few minutes. Bobbers flying, line tangling, and excited yelling. The parents hardly keeping up with the chaos. When they tired of fishing they took turns rolling down the grassy backside of the dam. Kids having fun outside, what a concept!
Gave it till 9 and called it a morning. Didn't get a bite but that isn't all what fishing is about. Didn't see the Eagle today. Cormerants were few and far between. They were not catching either. I had a slow start last year so the best is yet to come.
