Hell my dog likes to eat deer shit, that is really bad, I don't think the dog test is safe.

By the time you get a definitive answer that fish will be 2 weeks old! Always trust the nose, it knows

It's probably good, depending on how strong it smells...don't know about the milk thing, I'm remembering back in the 40's and into the late 50's, some fish markets used bleach to extend the shelf life 2-4 days...that's why I'd smell bleach when I'd go in early A.M. for fish heads /racks for crabing...

Good that you do vacuum seal...too bad you forgot 'em in the fridge...you grow tomatoes? Always good for fertilizer, a chunk under each set..if you don't feel comfortable eating them...

Go buy a sub sandwich before you cook the fish... After cooking, if it tastes bad throw it in the mulch pile, garden, whatever... and eat the sub. If after cooking it tastes good (I'm beting it will ) then take the sub and go fishing the next day and try and catch more!

Are you kidding me! That fish is fine. That fish is still in better condition then anything you would get in the supermarket.

Last day of Tog (4/30) season we caught a bunch of Tog, on Tagged Fish. I bagged my filets and put a couple bags in the fridge. Wife took a bag to work on Tuesday 5/3 & gave it to her sister. We went to Sunday dinner at sister's (5/8) One dish was crabmeat stuffed, baked fish. Wife asked sister if this was the Blackfish she had given her? "Yes" I didn't eat any but others did, no one got sick.

Thanks for all of the replies everyone!! I ended up keeping it and vacuum-sealing and then freezing it. I marked the bags (to distinguish it from the other filets I already had in there) and we'll just have to try it one day.
