Anyone with kids knows that THEIR refrigerator does NOT retain ambiant temperature. "I'm just looking for something to eat".

I agree with Vinnie............toss the fish then toss the jigs for some fresh stuff. Nothing turns a family off to fish like BAD fish (don't ask ME how I know)

The fish is fine!

You ever see those whole fish at foodtown? They looked like they were dragged through the streets before thrown on ice and kept there for two weeks.

Like someone mentioned, we're spoiled to fresh fish.

Here's another tip to keep the fish fresh;

Wrap in paper towel and change the paper towel every day/every other day. That way the fish doesn't sit in the slime/fluid that comes off of it.

Had you done that, you can eat the fish up to a week later safely, thought 5-6 days is a max for me

When in doubt...thow it out. Or if you have a garden bury it as fertilizer.

I've frozen fluke and ate them 6 months later...no fancy freezing techniques....just fillet...freezer bag...and freeze! If in doubt...give a dog a piece....they won't eat it if bad!

Of course it's still good. If it has been on ice or refrigerated for 5 days. No problem. The average time that fresh fish bought at the supermarket and the time that it's caught is approximately 7 days, Enough said. Enjoy.......

Eh, better than what happened to me. Left my freezer open by accident last night, an entire trash barrel of fish went bad . LAB was right about those kids and "ambient temperature" LMAO.

Left some of the cod we got up in Mass in the fridge for 3 days and it went bad. Smelled horrible but it was cooler iced for 2 days. Chaos Starter, if it don't smell bad, you can eat it. Smells bad, fertilizer. Just don't let it go to waste.
