I can just describe my Fluke season with one word terrible. I was on one trip where I did not even get a bite. I got skunked 3 times the most I have got skunked in over 40 years. I mean no Fluke fish skunked I may have gotten a small Bluefish here or there but not a single Fluke twice. The thing that bothers me most was all 3 trips we had excellent drifting conditions no storms before or after just very poor fishing. I know I had some good trips but the bad ones outweighed the good ones by a long shot. I for one am more then glad the seasons over. I just hope the Sea Bass fishing will be a good one so far it has been.

Best in a while for dock fishing in the Manasquan. I kept 9 keepers over 18.5", threw back 3 keepers under 19" and had at least 80 shorts in maybe 12 hours of fishing. Pretty decent for one spot.

5 charters, 2 cancel due to weather, pier I use to fluke at Raritan destroyed, no Fluke in the bay.
Personally, worse season EVER!

Good think is, when it's that bad it can only get better

I voted average, because it was just that, average.

June was horrible, July had spurts of good fishing, August was good depending on conditions, and September was generally good but we had to run to all ends of the earth to find the fish.

Lots of "nice" fish this year over 7#, no doormats biggest we had was just under 9#. We had plenty of days where we got enough for the limit, but it was a grind most of the time. We probably only had 2 ridiculous days all summer long, whereas in 2012 we had several days where we had true drop and reel fishing.

No Fluke for me...didn't even try this year.
Maybe some stripers in November from the surf.

I'd have to say it was an average year. Back bay started out pretty good, but fizzled too soon, and I think I spent way too much time hoping that they would show up back there again. Had good results when I moved outside the Hook, but I just didn't get out as much as I would have liked. My "regular crew" hung in there with me, though, so that was good.

Great season except for the first month. Took three weeks too catch a keeper. After that, rarely had to measure. A lot of quality fish this year.

I wasnt always high hook but was able to put the boat over some real nice fish. The learning curved changed this year as i had to explore new spots when the back bay fizzled out. Over all i would say average but then again i have really high expectations. Cant wait til next year!
