Some very good points being made, If your looking for a long term purchase deisels are the way to go not twin 454s they will burn ~30-40 gph? and break the bank on just fuel. However it will be tough to find a good deal on a boat with twin deisels for under $25,000, if your only fishing inshore a single deisel with a bow thruster might be a better option I know that's my next move. No matter what you purchase get a good surveyer to inspect the entire boat for you. Depending on what year the boat is you purchase a survey might be needed for your insurance company.
