Re: "1st annual njf ice contest 2015"
Not trying to be a d*ick here, and I know it's tough to measure a fish while its flopping around and your fingers are numb, but that last slime dart is 26.5". The nose is a .25" shy of the front of the tape when you zoom in and the top lobe of the tail seems to be a hair shy of the 7/8 line. Again, not trying to be a douche-bigelow. The contest is FUN first... Just offering up my nearly meaningless opinion

Re: "1st annual njf ice contest 2015"
Alright then, I guess the majority has spoken. I'm trying not to be too critical with anglers measurements but being as 2 guys have chimed in I guess I have to chop the Pickerel down a little bit. Let's keep it fair. There's more than one fish on this thread that can be chopped down.
TIGHT LINEZ!!! GO CATCH SOMETHING!!!

Re: "1st annual njf ice contest 2015"
i'm not in the contest, but i joked and said you guys need to make bumper boards the door prize! I've been thinking from the very beginning most of these fish measurements are off by at least a half inch! both bigger and smaller than actuality.
I've been doing online c&r contests for a while now and got pretty good at zooming in on the picture, using a straight edge and some simple math and getting a pretty near exact measurement of the fish. Since I don't personally know any of you guys in the contest and i'm not in the contest i'd be willing to give my opinion on the measurements of the top 5-6 fish if you want. |

Re: "1st annual njf ice contest 2015"
All around is some good fishing and some excellent fish porn we have.
Personally not entering anything until I pay up. That would be unfair to the rest of the gang. On another hand everything I caught so far would be crushed by the numbers we have posted so at least that making me feel good. Andre |

I think February 26th or later is way too late to pay up and enter the tourney anyway Andre.

Re: "1st annual njf ice contest 2015"
I was trying to take a quick pic before releasing it but what do you guys think in this picture? The head is right on 27 and the tape measure is slightly surpassing the tail. I understand if it needs to be shortened but maybe this picture is better?

Re: "1st annual njf ice contest 2015"
I'll start with the disclaimer I'm not in the contest.. But with a straightedge on both ends, my call would be 26.5... With the tail at .5', and the mouth at 27.. None the less great fish... Just my $.02
